Samaritans Help Residents Shop Responsibly

(Activities from 2007)

Let your holiday shopping help artisans and farmers in developing regions of the world by purchasing handmade items offered at a Fair Trade Craft Sale on Saturday, December 2, 10:00 AM-6:00 PM and Sunday, December 3, 9:00 AM to12:00 noon at St Ann’s Parish Life Center at 781 Smith Road, Parsippany. The Fair is sponsored by the Samaritans.

Fair Trade is part of the Work of Human Hands Program, a partnership between Catholic Relief Services and A Greater Gift, a non-profit program of SERRV International. The former is an alternative trade and development organization that currently works with artisans and farmers in 35 countries around the world. Every purchase made at the Sale allows a producer to provide for the basic necessities of life, to educate his or her children, and to work in a safe environment.

The Samaritans are an organization based on the ideals of Christian living, linking those in service with those in need. They choose this project to make aware the need for social justice, especially by providing decent and fair wages to all.

Please join us at this Sale and let your purchases spread hope and justice throughout the world.
